Bookended by Hitman 3 and Halo Infinite , 2021 was a hell of year for games
It was a year where unexpected games like Guardians of the Galaxy and Forza Horizon 5 took over my brain
It has been a tremendously weird year, and I think this list reflects that weirdness
Now that this god-forsaken year is coming to an end, here are some games I kinda liked
I bet no one else's top 10 has a game with the word 'fanny' in the title
From Monster Hunter: Rise to the new League of Legends spin-off, 2021 had some amazing RPGs
Picking through the wreckage of 2021 to find a few brightspots
Forza Horizon , Bowser’s Fury , and the Guardians of the Galaxy make Fahey’s list this year
Evil execs, unobtainable PS5s, and poorly cast Marios were just a few of the lowlights
Great updates for GTA Online , badly remastered classics, and no GTA 6 led to an uneven 2021 for Rockstar fans
eFootball 2022 and the not-so-wonderful Balan Wonderworld were among the worst of the worst this year
It wasn't just Skate 2 , Titanfall , and LittleBigPlanet that were impacted
Transforming dinosaurs, wheeled guinea pigs, kaiju, and more make this year's top toy list
Starfield and Cyberpunk 2077 sit neatly alongside delays, lies, and much more
During a downer of a year, some actually good stuff happened
Games like Ratchet and Returnal are terrific but Sony's PS5 could use some more bells, whistles
GTA news, Animal Crossing porn, and upheaval at Activision Blizzard were among the forces that shaped this year
Hooray for the Inazuma region, tons of new characters, and an entire housing system
It doesn’t help that the global chip shortage is expected to continue and Sony has reduced PS5 unit production
From Battlefield 2042 to eFootball 2022 , this year saw some games get released in a very broken state
